Applied math
STEM-SEDG-3: Analyze applied math required by business and industry for engineering graphics.
In the design process, it is important to incorporate tolerance. This is important due to the fact that it provides fair amounts of accuracy and precision in the creation of your designs. Its role in making the dimensions allows them to be very precise in how long each part has to be. It also for less mistakes to be made in the design process. In the different designs, these dimensions could be what makes the object function or have the inability to function properly. In the designs, the conversions and ratios are used to make them have the proper dimensions needed. For example, on the design documents that we create, we use the conservations and ratios to fit the different parts and aspects of the design on to the paper we use. This is important so we can see all of the design that we have created. I used this on my elbow engine when I had to make the size of the design smaller to allow for it all to fit on the piece of paper so I could print it out. I was able to use the ratios to make the design small enough to fit, but large enough to were you can see the different parts of the design. In the future, I hope to gain more knowledge about using the ratios and conservations in the different aspects of the design that I have created. I also hope to gain more experience with the ratios in future projects.
