STANDARD AC-IDD-10
AC-IDD-10
Create and dimension single view drawings while applying geometric construction.
ELACC9-10SL4: Present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, substance, and style are appropriate to purpose, audience, and task. MCC9-12.G.CO.12: Make formal geometric constructions with a variety of tools and methods (compass and straightedge, string, reflective devices, paper folding, dynamic geometric software, etc.). Copying a segment; copying an angle; bisecting a segment; bisecting an angle; constructing perpendicular lines, including the perpendicular bisector of a line segment; and constructing a line parallel to a given line through a point not on the line. |

How did you meet this standard?
I met this standard by creating the design that were given to us by Mr. Grummer and created them again into the app AutoCAD. I then used my knowledge of what I had learned about AutoCAD to create these designs. I also used the Mechanical Drawing Book that was given to me to help me create the designs thatthe class were assigned. I used his insturctional videos to help me better understand what I needed to do in order to finish the designs by the date they were due.
How does this standard have real-world application?
The standard has real-world application by the fact that architect's are assigned to create the differnet dimensional figures and design's that they are assigned. It helps them create and learn how to see the different figures in ways that better explain what theyare going to look like when they are created. This also helps us learn that to be an achitect or engineer you need to be able to design different figures in different dimensions.
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to better undertsnd how to make a 3-dimensional figure. I also would like o have some more practice on 2- dimensional figures to make sure that I have a good understanding of the designs. Another future goals is to learn why there are different dimensions and what kind of importance they have into creating the different designs.
